6 Steps to Getting Perfect Skin

Here are 6 steps to getting perfect skin! It can be hard to pull off perfect skin, but with the right tools, a little bit of know-how, and determination, you CAN get that perfect, flawless skin you've been aching for. So here are 6 simple steps to getting the perfect skin!

Step 1: Cleansing

Cleansing Your Skin

Choose a gentle, creamy, liquid cleanser and try to avoid soap bars which just spread germs and dirt on your face. Apply the liquid cleanser to a cotton ball and gently massage it onto your face using slow, circular motions. Rinse with lukewarm water and make sure the water isn't hot since it can aggravate the skin and inflame capillaries.

Step 2: Toning

Toning

Pick a gentle toner that won't be too harsh on your skin. After you've thoroughly rinse your face, apply the toner to both your face and neck. If you're dealing with oily skin, choose a toner that contains witch hazel which will dry out your skin a bit, but will help get rid of the oil factor.

Step 3: Exfoliating

exfoliating

The point of exfoliating is to remove dead skin cells that cause breakouts. This also helps to smooth the skin so your products can better penetrate the skin. Make sure you use a fine abrasive exfoliator, since the harsh ones that contain ground-nut shells or apricot pits may irritate the skin because the edges are uneven and can cause microscopic tears.

Step 4: Steam

Steam

Steam your face once a week for five to ten minutes as part of your weekly cleansing routine. Place a handful of chamomile in a pot of water and bring to a boil. Remove the pot and let it brew and cool for a few minutes. When it's cool enough that the steam doesn't burn you, place a towel over your head and the pot and expose your face to the steam.

Step 5: Revitalize

Revitalize

You need to revitalize the skin with a facial mask once a week. For those with oily skin, clay-based masks are the best. Hydrating masks and gel masks should be used by those with dry and/or sensitive skin. If you have combination skin, apply a mud mask only on the T-zone.

Step 6: Moisturize

Moisturize

Moisturizing your skin is one of the most important skin rituals you can do, especially during the day. Even oily skin needs some sort of moisturizing, but just make sure you choose a moisturizer that's non-comedogenic and formulate not to block pores. During the day, wear a moisturizer that contains an SPF so you can protect your skin against the sun's harmful rays.
